Interactive Institute â Social Gaming
Liselott is a media designer and researcher at Interactive Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Her research concerns the design of novel experiences for true mobile situations, specifically focused on the design of context dependent games for traveling children. Together with the team at the mobility studio she has developed a series of games, combining GPS and gyro with GIS-databases.
Nokia â Services Design
Francis is a user-experience specialist with a broad range of experience in the wireless industry. He has worked as a designer and researcher with handset manufacturers, carriers, OS platform manufacturers, and within industry collaboration forums. He is currently working as an Interaction Designer with Nokia and lives in Vancouver, Canada.
TELUS â Devices
Markus manages the user experience strategy, design and execution at Canadian wireless carriers TELUS. Prior to this, he was Product Experience Manager at Orange/France Telecom Group in London, where he managed the re-design of the Orange Homescreen. Markus has also worked on the UI for the Nokia 7710 touchscreen media device, the Nokia 9300 & 9500 Communicators and the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, as well as Synaptics's MobileTouch touchpad technology.
mBricks â Application Design
Morten works as a Senior Interaction Designer at mBricks where he leads innovation and ideation and designs enterprise software for mobile phones. Previously, Morten was Principal & Head of Development at Ememess as where he designed mobile phone games and fun stuff. He lives and works just outside Oslo, Norway.
Cornell University â Social Networks
Lee has researched mobile phone use and mobile social networks for the past seven years at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Wisconsin. Her research examines how mobile technology changes social interactions in public spaces. She also recently co-edited a book with Dr. Paul Messaris on Digital Media (Peter Lang, 2006). Lee will be an assistant professor of communication at Cornell University starting in August 2008.
ECCO Design â Intersection of Hardware & GUI Design
Kashif is the Technology Design Director at ECCO. Prior to this he worked as a Senior Project Manager at Volkswagen's Technology Design Lab, where he laid out the vision for the future of consumer electronics and mobile services in automotives. His concept cars have been showcased in various auto shows, the most notable being the 2005 Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference in San Francisco and the 2005 SEMA Show in Los Angeles.
Sprint â Device Case Study
Mike is a Human Factors Specialist with Sprint in Overland Park, KS. He has been focused on small screen design for the past 8 years and has worked on every type of handset application imaginable. Recently, Mike has completed work as lead designer on the Samsung Instinct, which won Best of Show at CTIA Wireless 2008.
eZee â Context
C. Enrique Ortiz is a long time mobile technologist and blogger. He is founder and CTO of eZee inc., a mobility company that specializes on advanced context-based marketing, and where he oversees the company's technology and products groups.
AdMob â Design with WALL
Luca Passani is an Italian software engineer with many years experience in Web and Mobile Internet development. Prior to joining AdMob, Luca spent seven years with Openwave Systems and took part in projects for Telecoms in the U.S. and Europe. Luca is known to the developer community for creating popular software tools such as WURFL and WALL. In addition Luca has authored articles and co-authored books on Mobile development. Recently, Luca published the so-called GAP guidelines which helps developers create mobile sites with minimal effort.
Adaptive Path â Gestural Interfaces
Dan is an Experience Design Director at Adaptive Path. He is the author of Designing for Interaction: Creating Smart Applications and Clever Devices (New Riders, 2006) and the upcoming Interactive Gestures: Designing Gestural Interfaces (O'Reilly, 2008). Products he's designed for mobile devices, software, and websites are used by millions of people every day. He holds a Master's degree in interaction design from Carnegie Mellon University.
Punchcut â TBD
Gabriel is a seasoned interaction designer and world traveler. Currently Director of Interaction Design at Punchcut in San Francisco, Gabriel was a Principal at Frog Design, led design teams at Motorola China, visited Microsoft's Research Lab in Beijing, and consulted in Australia. He has written for ACM Interactions Magazine, and publishes regularly through his mobile design blog, Small Surfaces. Gabriel was the interaction design lead for Motorola's MotoFone, a phone designed specifically for poor, non-literate people in developing countries.
